Woodcutting System
Leñador

Woodcutting is one of the core gathering professions in the server. It allows you to collect the wood required for crafting, upgrading equipment, and creating a variety of useful items. Many advanced recipes require rare types of wood, making Woodcutting an essential skill for players who wish to progress through the crafting system.

Trees can be found throughout forests and wilderness areas across the world. Unlike mining veins, trees are never located inside caves. Lower-tier trees can usually be found near towns and beginner areas, making them easy to access for new players. However, higher-tier trees grow in more dangerous regions, often surrounded by powerful monsters that will challenge even experienced adventurers.

Getting Started

To begin woodcutting, you will need a Beginner's Axe.

Unlike the Beginner's Pickaxe, this tool cannot be purchased from NPCs and must be crafted by the player. To craft a Beginner's Axe, you will need:

  • Bronze Ingot10 Bronze Ingots
  • Silver Ingot5 Silver Ingots
  • Hatchet1 Hatchet

Once crafted, the Beginner's Axe will allow you to start gathering wood and training your Woodcutting Skill.

Woodcutting Mechanics

Each tree has two separate chances:

  • Chopping Chance – the chance to successfully chop the tree.
  • Reward Chance – the chance to obtain logs or resources from the tree.

Both chances increase based on the player's Woodcutting Skill. The higher your skill, the more efficient your woodcutting becomes.

In addition, every axe provides a multiplier that further improves your chances.

Example

A player with 33 Woodcutting Skill using a Master's Axe receives:

33 × 0.17 = 5.61%

This means the player gains an additional 5.61% chance, which is added to the base chance of successfully chopping a tree and obtaining resources from it.

The higher your Woodcutting Skill and the better your Axe, the more efficient your woodcutting will become, allowing you to gather rare resources faster and progress through the crafting system more effectively.

Axe Durability

Woodcutting is not without risks. Every axe has a small chance to break each time it is used.

The probability of an axe breaking depends on its quality. Lower-tier axes are more fragile and have a higher chance of breaking, while higher-tier axes are crafted from stronger materials and are considerably more durable.

As a general rule:

  • Beginner's Axe has the highest break chance.
  • Apprentice's Axe has a lower break chance than the Beginner's Axe.
  • Lumberjack's Axe is more durable and less likely to break.
  • Expert's Axe has a very low break chance.
  • Master's Axe has the lowest break chance of all axes.

Investing in better axes not only improves your woodcutting efficiency but also reduces the risk of losing your tool during long woodcutting sessions.
